A Prerequisite for Reconnecting With Oneness
by mnobleza
This morning, I was reciting the Ganesha mantra. I noticed in the middle of my 108 repetitions that I was also sitting with the feeling of anxiety related to my not looking forward to doing something that I knew would be good for me in the end.
I’ve written in the past about how most relate to Ganesha as being the “remover of obstacles.” However, in the Tantric tradition, the reason that he is seen as the remover of obstacles is because he transcends those obstacles. Ganesha represents the transcendent consciousness of Oneness, … the realization that All is One, and in that Oneness, there is no such thing as separateness or Other. When we invoke Ganesha’s blessings, we are therefore asking that he help us remove from our consciousness that which is an obstacles to our ongoing connection to All-That-Is.
The insight that flashed across my mind was this: The path to the transcendent Oneness of Life is through the complete acceptance of the present moment.
To know Oneness is to know the profundity of this eternal and blessed moment, knowing that all it contains, will never ever be again. Beginning to realize this, I noticed my mind let go of the anxiety, knowing that it was part of the path I needed to take to be reunited with Oneness.
